Yesterday, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and the match was played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday, May 13.
After electing to bat first in the day’s match, Hyderabad scored 182/6 in the allotted 20 overs. While it was a good first innings, none of their batsmen converted their starts, with Heinrich Klaasen scoring 47 off 29 balls. Krunal Pandya returned with figures of 2/24 with the ball.

In their run-chase, the SRH bowlers kept it straight for the first half of the innings. While Quinton de Kock lost his wicket after a good start, LSG could manage only 75 runs in their first 12 overs.
Then Prerak Mankad, playing only his second IPL game, kept his cool and scored a crucial 64* while batting throughout. Marcus Stoinis smashed his 25-ball 40 before Nicholas Pooran was dismissed from the very first ball.

Pooran hit three back-to-back sixes and played a match-winning inning of 44* off 13 balls. As a result, the visitors won the match by seven wickets and with four balls to spare.

It was a much-needed win for Lucknow on Saturday. Considering the number of franchises still to make it to the playoffs, LSG grabbed two crucial points to move up to the fourth spot in the points table. He now has 13 points from 12 matches and a net run rate of +0.309.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad has had a forgettable season this time. They have now lost seven matches and are still in the ninth position with a net run rate of -0.471.
