Today’s Gold Price 17 May: On Wednesday, both gold and silver were trading flat. On the Multi-Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in June was trading higher by 54 points at Rs.62,280 and silver for delivery in July was trading lower by 60 points at Rs.72,525.

Globally, Gold prices held steady on Wednesday as investors braced for prolonged US debt-limit talks, with a firmer dollar keeping prices under control. Spot gold rose 0.1% to $1,991.35 an ounce. US gold was little changed at $1,995.20.
Spot silver rose 0.1% to $23.76 an ounce after hitting a six-week low in the recent past. Platinum rose 0.6% to $1,063.71 and palladium added 0.3% to $1,505.93.

Gold prices were down on Tuesday as investors assessed developments on US debt ceiling talks, strong retail sales data, and hawkish comments from Fed officials. So it is expected that till June the hike in rates can be stopped.
